I saw this car at a local shop getting gone through before it was offered for sale. I I asked my tech if that was the same car that was on craigslist for cheap, he wasn't sure but after he told me the mileage I realized it was the same one. Out of curiosity, I asked him if the car was just beat, and to my surprise he said it was in very good shape. I also took it as a good sign that this dealer cares enough to have the car checked out at a VERY reputable local shop before offering it up on the market. I do agree, however, that for just a few thousand more you could find one with like 30k less miles and no frame/unibody damage. good luck!
I think that is a lot of $$$ for a 97K car. Most recent purchases on this board is around $35-45K with miles from 40K-60K, I think. I got mine at $36K with 50K along with warranty. I hope this help.

You will see that a lot of guys call these cars "bulletproof". That is a relative term. A 996tt is borderline supercar. The engine and tranny are built strong, but not honda strong in terms of miles. Also, this is an 8 year old car. So, consider repair costs - replacement engine - 25K. Replacement tranny - 10K. Saving a few thousand at the outset to get a high mileage example is false economy when you can get extremely low mileage cars for under 50k, plus the resale will be that much higher as well.
