Trying learn the pros/cons of do a port polish job on stock heads and then upgrading valves and valvetrain vs getting an 'off the shelf' set of GT3 heads. Which is less expensive and which offer greater peformance gains? Who offers CNC porting of 996 heads?

 

Check out the thread again what I posted on you last thread or check out JoeTwint's build or Markski's build. There is tons of info on this forum just have to sit down and read lots and lots to learn new things. Huge difference in cost and performance going with GT3 heads vs. other options.

 

You can get a long way on stock heads (ported) and modded cams
(think Divexxtreme fast!).

Proto, EVOMS, and several others do porting.
Put where you are located in your avatar, it will help in the answers you get

When you say modded cams do you mean stock cams with a regrind or are you saying an 'off the shelf' aftermarket cam? Who makes these?

Does Proto or EVOMS offer CNC porting? Otherwise, there are many competent people that are offer porting for cylinder heads. BTW- I am on the West Coast

 

Every vendor has their own way of doing things. You need to contact them and find out.
