power @ wheel

hi
how much BHP/torque would a standard 2004 996 turbo with 40k miles @ the wheels? (4wd)
we have had it to a rolling road well it was a hub dyno,
results are 363bhp@ 6100rpm/ 403 lbft @3700rpm @1bar boost
car does have a different MAP.

That is power for a stock map. However, the stock map does not boost to 1.0 bar. So perhaps it is flashed with an underperforming aftermarket tune?

If it's really at 1bar then it seems low. Those numbers sound like a stock car at .6-.7bar

to be honest car is due for its service and could not get it in before we had it booked in for the dyno run,
it is going in monday for its service.
i was expecting bit more as this one feels quicker than the other two iv driven,
its left me confused as i got the car mapped and felt the difference from how it used to be,

Whose map did you use?

Without a dyno before the mod its hard to say much. I mean if the car dynoed 300whp before mod you would not be perplexed now.
Could you find out what other stock 996TT have dynoed on this machine?
It might answer some questions...

^^^+1. I agree. It seems the power level is in between a stock car and a flashed car with "flashed car" boost?

its a mate who mapped the car using dim sports equipment
same rolling road place had a 996t with hybrid turbos and a remap, dont know the specs iirc it did between 440-480wbhp
best thing i can do is after service and fit the KandN panel filter is start using 99oct fuel instead of the 97oct.
thanks anyways

The hybrid cars are really going to put down higher numbers especially with a good flash/map. The K&N isn't going to get you anything, the stock filter is fine.

I wish I could pull up to the local pump and get 97. Best I've got here in Colorado is 93, and that's pretty scarce.

absolutely right about KN. I had one and there is no difference at all. I took it off and put the factory unit back on. The factory unit flows well enough that you really don't need more air unless you are making monster power(700whp+)

Coloradosilver, Dugans on Santa Fe Blvd near Union carries 104 octane unleaded and 111 leaded. I always stick a few gallons in with my 91 to remove the Denver Crap Gas effect. I take to 5 gallons cans and fill them up, lasts me about 4 tanks. Haven't done that in 4 months, however. Bandimere also has high octane gas.

car is back from its service, feels lot smoother.
so what is the max boost the standard engine can take from the standard turbos? is it possible to get 500bhp from just a remap??
Zak

Max boost on K-16s is 1.0-1.1 bar max. A more likely crank hp from a good flash is ~490 hp. If you want 500 or a little more you will likely need a sport exhaust.

The AFRs are ok. I would rather it wouldnt take that little hop up at the end but 12.6 is not bad.

Anything over .9 and you're loking at possible leakage from stock diverter valves.

With a flash, Dv's, and intake, you should see .9 - 1.0 with the K16s.

If you throw an exhaust on, you'll see 1.1 - 1.2 as it really frees up the turbos.

With the above mentioned mods, this would translate to approx 510 hp and 525 ft lbs at the crank if I recall correctly. More on a X-50 car as they are running with the K-24s.
