Squeek Squeek Squeek Squeek Squeek

So since I've quieted the car down, I've developed a rear suspension Squeek somewhere... So last evening I put my wife in the back seat and she "listened"... She said "your rear seat is squeeking" Of course there isn't anything in the rear seat to squeek, but at least it pointed to a general location. With the car off and coasting down the driveway it squeeks (chirp chirp chirp Squeek Squeek). So I put it in the air on my llift and took my lift jack and made the suspension "work"... no noise... Pretty sure it's the tranny mount... Gonna have to double check it after this coming weekend, but I'm pretty certain the mount is shot...

How did you get your wife backt there? Don't tell me that you don't have a roll bar in that car.

hey mike what sort of suspension parts do you have? Any dog bones, solid arm stuff? Try getting the car in the air and then pull back and forth on a rear wheel and see if there's play?

Jon, We removed the GT3 seats and DASPORT bar over the winter, since I'm not tracking this car this year. So she has plenty of room to get back there...

Right now, other than the H/R swaybars and PSS9 shocks, the rear suspension is stock.. I'm about 99% sure it's the tranny mount. We had it on my lift and tugged and pulled like crazy. The only thing it might be is the stock dogbones... I re-installed them when I returned the car to street use, as the bushings for the dogbones I have were really loose, but the heim joints seemed fine. I should have put some anti-sieze on the bolts before reinstalling them... However, when trying to duplicate the noise, we couldn't with the car on the lift...

So after putting the car on the lift twice, once to lube the endlinks of the sways, and once to remove and lubricate the dogbones, and check all the other suspension, we've come to the conclusion that it is absolutely tranny mounts.

With someone bouncing up and dong on the drivers side rocker/ door sill (had a towel on the stainless plate) I could push on the trans and the noise would go away. I could push up on the exhaust and the noise would go away...

I just ordered a new mount from Pelicanparts for $230-ish and will also swap out the WEVO blue mounts for the blacks on the motormounts.
