Tial's new Aplha286

I've just ordered a new set of Alpha286..s turbos from Tial . According to Tial they spool up faster then alpha286...s with stronger or equal top end to alpha3071s. They are the latest alpha286..s from Tial. Just wondering does anyone have these turbos in their car n what do they think of them.

What have you heard between the Tial 28's & 24/18's? I have 24/18's & the 28's have been mighty tasty so far.:D

If you are in the right gear spool is not a issue w/the 24/18's.

That is very correct, based on my real world experience with both turbos, after 3500 rpms, they both are pretty much even. Now yes you can run higher boost more power blah blah..but at that level you are pushing the limits of stock motor...you might as well go all out get a GT3071 and do the internals.

I have been told by reliable sources that the new alpha 28's outflow the older Garrett 3071's. I think that is saying something.... and one reason I bought!

Gt 2868 ?

Can the 2860R be retrofitted with the different compressor wheel? Making the 2868?
:confused::confused:

boca996tt Jul 11, 2009 07:26 AM

I think the alpha's might be better on a tip then the k24/18 for its quicker spool time

Sker66 Jul 11, 2009 08:23 AM

What was the cost for these turbos for the pair?
