Going to try to Hit 10.90's with Frankenstein

So i am on my quest this weekend. Sunday is our Eurofest even at the track and i really want a 10.90 or better. Putting fuel in Frankenstein and see how it goes again!

So i put the Vbox in the car last night and tried to get a reading while i ran the Z06 the only reading i mustered was a 30-60 for some reason i have no idea!! it said a 2.14 is that good or bad????

Anyone??

Good Luck!!! Those are numbers I'm hoping to be hitting....

I was hoping to make it to the event for this weekend, but my car will not be ready until next week sometime

I was hoping to introduce myself to a few other P-guys... guess it'll have to wait.... but in case I do make it, I'll definitely come up to you.

UrbanHotrod Jul 15, 2009 10:46 PM

Hey Daniel you dont come out to our weekly do you?
Come on up! even if you dont have the car come anyways. Who is doing your car and what are you doing?

Daniel Jul 15, 2009 10:59 PM

Not really sure of where the weekly is.... let me know

The car is actually an ex-members car.... that was originally done by EVOMs.

I purchased it without a powertrain, but have another powertrain plus an EVOMS GT610 kit being put in by Strictly European Motors (SEM).

I will definitely post a real introduction to myself and the car once it's completed...

Go get'em Corey, make the P car family proud. Take Dmaffo with you, he will give you some good hints or he will just take the keys and........Your car with a good 60ft can do a lot better than that 10.90 you are looking for....GL

You have DMKs old car.

Good Luck!!! Depending what gear you were in it could be good, maybe not. I never really paid attention to the 30-60 time...actually never slowed down enough to do one. I usually do 50-70 times in 3rd gear, in addition to 60-130's. My best 50-70 was a 1.25, but I'm usually in the high 1.3's low 1.4's. It didn't record, but I did a 50-70 in 2nd one time and as I recall it was a 1.0 and I think I saw like 80-85mph in 2nd on my speedo?!!!

Good luck! 10s are def. there for you judging by your MPH. Launching is going to be the key thing. I still haven't gotten my launch down yet (best 60ft I've had was a 2.1 I think (On my 11.0 @ 137 pass). How is the weather up there? That's also going to either help or hinder you. Did you do your last runs in the same weather?

UrbanHotrod Jul 16, 2009 07:41 AM

MMM Should be a touch warmer on Sunday then the last time i went out, Kinda like 68-70, but i am running c16 this time as opposed to 94 with 109 in it. so i can turn up the boost a bit more and i got rid of the 2 step that was killing my starts!

DMK's old car,

That was really a nice looking car in its day.
I love the white and watched that car run a 137 mph trap in arizona
a few years ago.

Don's car was one of finest examples of turbos I have seen. If you have his old car then you got a car that probably had the best money could buy, which is a great find for you my friend.
Good luck
Robert

I searched my P-Box folder for some data that I could use for comparison, and the closest 30-60 I could find was a 2.12 that I ran in my stock C6 Z06 at the dragstrip.

Keep in mind, I was in 1st gear all the way to 58 mph or so, and then I shifted to 2nd..

Thanks Scott. Whats going on with the bad boy GT2?

It's doing really well.

I ended up modifying the turbos and not liking the new setup. Then I went back to the original setup with brand-new housings. Also replaced the plugs, coilpacks, injectors and air filters...and she's running absolutely perfect. Perfect cold-starts, perfect idle, no hiccups anywhere in the power-band.

I may replace the ICs down the road and re-tune for pump gas, but for now...the car is running awesome. Just waiting for the weather to clear up.:)
