PSS10 Problem, Any suggestions???????

I have a set of PSS10's and I am having a problem with the Rears. They are clicking a total of 15 times instead of 10. I contacted Bilstein customer service and they are not sure what the problem is either.
I tried taking the adjustment **** off and turning manually using an allen wrench and I get the same thing. Any suggestions?

I have PSS10 and only get 10 clicks. (Maybe you got the test versions of PSS15.) Bilstein is in San Diego so driving down to check them out is not out of the question. I'd also check with GMG as they have a good relationship with Bilstein

Thanks for the Feedback Duane,
I tried GMG, I actually bought the set from them. They said shocks need to be set back to Bilstein, which is a big pain in the a** to remove, ship out and reinstall, and re-align.
I've actually been talking with Bilstein and trying to take the car to them but they don't do drive-ups. They actually sent me out a new adjuster **** thinking that was the problem. Obviously that did not work.
Anybody have any ideas???
Thanks!

I'm in to see what happens. I've been thinking about Bilsteins for my car and if they wont stand behind their product, I may spring for the more expensive but better performing Fox Coil Overs from SmartRacing. Both GMG and Bilstein have great reps, I wouldn't think GMG would risk their rep on something like this that sounds like a manufacturers defect. Talk to people at Bilstein, go up the ladder until they're willing to at least take a look at your car so they can ascertain that it is indeed a manufacturers defect. Explain, that you understand they happen but just want it taken care of expediently. I'd do this in email form and link them to this thread. If you have things in writing, things seem to get done in a more expedient fashion, especially when they see that this is a very active forum on a brand of car that is a very big user of their products. I'm sure the big hold up here is that GMG doesn't want to eat the cost of taking them off and I can guarantee that Bilstein wont reimburse them to do so. That leaves you to pay the labor. I know I sure as hell wouldn't pay it since you already paid to have them put on in the first place. Did you take it back to GMG to have them look at it and they said to contact bilstein or did they say that over the phone without seeing it? Either case, I'd really go up the ladder with Bilstein, if you find zero satisfaction, have a friend who's an attorney draw up short letter stating the situation on his letterhead. Things like that have a way of straightening situations out rather quickly.

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the feedback and Advice. I have been too busy at work to pursue this to the fullest. Unfortunately I have been waiting for a call back from Bilsteins tech warranty department for almost 2 weeks and nothing. Every time I call they say the main tech will call me back later in the afternoon. I’m actually getting very annoyed with the situation! I’ve talked and showed the car to GMG, they are willing to take the shocks off and send them back but I will get stuck eating the costs for the removal, alignment and shipping. Every time I talk to someone at Bilstein it seems like they have no idea of how their shocks work. It may just be the people I talk to but I would think if you work for a major suspension company you should understand the components that make up your product. I am very disappointed with their customer service and feel they should really stand behind their products. I am going to make another attempt to get through to someone today and maybe speak to GMG again to see if they can push this through. I will keep you guys posted.

Definitely let us know how it goes. A lot of people on this site have purchased or are considering purchasing Bilstein products and something like this can easily sway people away from Bilstein and into another brand if it's not remedied amicably. That being said, they should be under warranty shouldn't they? Lastly, did GMG do the install for you? Because if they did, shouldn't they have noticed the defect upon installation? If so, I seriously don't think you should be on the hook for any of the associated costs. Fabryce and the crew from GMG have been really upstanding to members of 6speed in the past, so if they did do the installation, you might want to bring that point up to them if you hadn't already. That's my $.02. Goood Luck!

Thanks for the advice guys! I am still trying to get this resolved with Bilstein. They gave me an offer to buy two new rear shocks and credit me back once they receive my old shocks back. I’m thinking that may be the easiest thing to do. The coilovers are still under warranty. Unfortunately I did not have them installed at GMG, but by the dealership. The extra clicking problem happened after being on the car for about 6 months. What do you guys think? I think that may be my only option at this point?? Only thing that worries me is this may happen again. I am really questioning Bilstein’s quality at this point and do not want to get stuck paying removal and re-install fees every few months or years. Any advice?
Thanks,
Amir

This is the first problem I have heard of on these shocks. I think you just got a bad pair. I am surprised that Bilstein has been mucking you around but again, I have never heard anyone else complain about their customer service. Probably just a fluke. Do the warranty exchange and put this behind you. Good luck.

I see you having them for sale now. How did you get the problem resolved?

Bilstein replaced the 2 rears coilovers under warrenty. I decided to swap them out for a more aggressive setup. I never had the new rears installed.
