I was gonna say them too, I just got a ticket in CA in blythe I was thinking of fighting it through the mail instead of trying to do driving school.
Actually, Dennis is correct. I was ticketed (several times) when I had a badge, a gun, and in a couple of cases, a uniform, for speeding when I was very young, and a federal police officer...
People say Texas sucks (which is why Mexico hasn't dis-lodged itself yet) but I think it's Va... But that's just me!

Not true, go to Fredericksburg, VA and see how nice the troopers are down there. They ticket everyone, and are the biggest aholes I have ever met. I have cop friends who rolled through there in a caravan for work, they were going to help in new orleans for the floods. They got pulled over near exit 248 by one idiot trooper. They explained where they were going, he said to keep it at the speed limmit. they took off again and were doing about 8-9 over and this time the trooper called his buddies and they pulled them all over and gave them all tickets.

OP. Go to Borders and buy "How to fight your speeding ticket in California" by Nolo Press.
I assume you have ALREADY subpoenaed all the records you will need- do not expect the officer to bring any.
remember, the officer is paid to go to court, but not paid to do the trial by declaration....

In the uk the laser machines have to be calibrated monthly and data recorded. if this proceedure isnt done and data recorded properly then the case is thrown out, as the police cannot prove that machine has been working accurately, not sure if the law is the same in the usa, must be, hope this helps and good luck.
