just wondering if anyone on here is using the hks evc instead of the greddy... i would be nice to just set your desired actual boost level and not have to mess with the % gain .

I have the EVC6.... once you get it set up, it's great..... The initial setup is the most important part, and may require a few resets to get perfect.

Justin , how involved is it to set it up properly? and is the install a lot different then the greddy ?

and also , in your opinion how does the HKS fair up to the greddy ?

wezz is infamous around these parts
i have the EVC as well. Works great (once its setup properly) - mine was dyno tuned and programed by SPI (Switzer).

I had the Greddy Profec for my Supra TT, and from what i can tell - they both hold boost great. I'd say a toss up...

wezz, i know the greddy holds boost well, thats what i have now ... but i want something where you can put in the actual boost you want run for ex. 1 .2 bar .. and have 1.2 bar... and not to mess with guessing % gain ...

hey unvy,

When you do the initial setup on the EVC6, I tend to set the first number setting to 1-2 psi over the wastegate spring pressure, and still give it another 5-10 percent(default is 100) during the inital setup. This gives you alot better base to start with and prevents you from having to run 150+% gains. Once setup correctly, it works very well. This procedure only applies to the 996Turbo though. Most cars you can set near the wastegate spring and 100% initial duty works fine. Keep in mind that I am referring to the initial duty only, not the duty/gain that you adjust after you set up the BC. I have used this method on both mine and Powell's car with 2 different turbo combinations(same Boost Logic turbo kit with different turbo variants) and it seems pretty consistent.
