Can anyone who is good with a graphics program
Can anyone who is good with a graphics program
create a new overlay plot using these 6 different dyno graphs (4 996 and 2 997)? I'm curious to see the difference on these recent stock motor 700whp+ cars on race gas....

Marski's kit (along with a SPI 997 graph)

Vivid's kit

and finally add this built motor EVOMS 3076 kit to see what one looks like at higher boost:

I'm not looking for a 'winner'...just really curious to compare the curves themselves. And not to be too picky, but if we could Powell's graph (height and width) for sizing, it would be easier to compare.
Thanks!
Jamie

Jaime, I would use topgun's sheet to represent EVOMS Alpha 3076s. He has a much better midrange than I and proved as much recently in TX....

Yea, but I was hoping to compare stock heads to keep it reasonably close 'apples to apples' comparison...and IIRC didn't he have some head work done? That being said, don't both of you have cams too? Again, not a big deal, but just curious to compare kits because we have lot of good choices out there!
Problem is some dyno sheets did not have the RPMS.... thus hard to put it in perspective as far as lag etc.... just an observation...

... Come on Jaime, there are no apples to apples anything on the 6
... it will make an interesting graph though!
Tom has EVOMS sport cams/ intake and exhaust. Very nice port of a stock turbo head with stock valves. I have larger valves with custom exhaust cam but a stock intake cam

EDIT: just noticed you're the only one in 3rd gear? We probably should remove your graph unless you can post a 4th gear RPM plot....which I'm sure you have?

Ah right, I thought yours had rpm. Can you post one on this thread? If not, they are all done in 4th gear with stock gears, so we can come close enough using a quick calulation.

I do not want to say anything but to make it real interesting it would be cool to have the cars dynoed at a shop outside the tuner who did it... I do believe there are some tricks we all do when we have the car to get better numbers.. be it better cooling, taking off the filters, better strapping down... etc.. etc.. that alone will give you 30+ rwhp... that I know because it was done on my car...
what do you think about that? good or bad idea? just asking....

This a great idea Jamie. Don't most people dyno these cars in 3rd, especially the AWD dynos? I believe EPL does? If it matters or helps, I've rolled my car on EPL's Mustang dyno in 3rd and 4th and the difference is negligable (+or-20hp?). And not to state the obvious, (but I will), I think that the number should be somewhat disregarded or not judged as much as obviously the curve should be.
Corey the owner will get it done right... he did it in 3rd... and they will have the rpms next time... ( problem going to non P car shops that do not have a fast way of getting the rpm signal )...

EPL dynos in 3rd as even with 4 or 5 fans you cannot duplicate 130-140 mph air across the intercoolers. Tony feels that 3rd gear (approx 110-115mph) the fans are fairly suitable, thus making a more accurate result. Again, none of this is gonna have a huge bearing on the CURVE, which is what we all care about. Obviously if it makes more power the curve moves up a smidge. 20-30hp isn't gonna make me buy a kit. A long, high, flat curve is gonna make me buy kit
I just want to see the graphs, that's all.
