Idle oil check question...
Idle oil check question...
Keep in mind, I am getting the oil changed Saturday, would do it myself but for the price, it isn't worth the hassle.
Regarding the question, checked the oil tonight after the car warmed up and it shows 2 solid blocks with the others empty.
Is this due to oil being pumped through the motor during idle and will show minimal in the sump being read or is there supposed to be more blocks showing up as solid ones? Getting ready to go grab the manual but thought I would ask just to be safe.
Bottom line, trying to figure out if I need to add a couple qts before I drive the 35 miles to get the oil changed.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Allen

yes these cars suck down oil sometimes with hard pulls pushing oil through the seals and past the rings sometimes.
your low on oil at this point, need to be two bars below the top arrow

A quart is probably too much. I believe the whole guage, all the bars, represents 1 liter. May be able to squeeze a quart in with only one bar left.
