Turbo S K24's
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Turbo S cab. It will be my first TT. Had a Carrera prior.
How expensive and time consuming should it be to upgrade to the K24 Hybrid turbos. I'm in Santa Fe NM anyone have a good shop in NM or AZ or CO they would recommend. Is there anything special I should do to maintain the ceramic brakes Car will need new rubber soon. Any suggestions on a reasonable wearing and priced tire (stock rims). Anything must mod items I should as soon as I get the car? Thanks |
Which hybrids are you considering? - Your cost will be slightly lower since you'll already have the K24 side... Find a tuner that does a Core-Exchange. You mention Arizona, surely you've stumbled across Evo and Vivid by now if you're in the Porsche world...
If it were me I'd stick with your stock K24's for now and spend the money on a good exhaust/tune/intake/DV's and PSS10 suspension. You should be able to do all that under 8k and it will completely transform the car. For tires there's a number of good sets just depending on what your budget allows for. Everything from the Sumi's up to the PS2's have been discussed in great length on the forum, do a quick search and you'll find hours of useful reading. Congrats on your new 996tt and be sure to post up pictures asap! |
Go with K24/18G hybrids and proto tune and injectors. These cars are bullet proof. BBi in Huntington Beach could help you with these.

Probably a dumb question but in the S does the car have dual 24k's or a 24/18 setup?
Where is Vivid? Have been to EVo. |

You want your car to be built and tested by a tuner in the same conditions it will be run daily. We have shop we work with in CO that is at ~6000-6500 feet which should be able what your altitude is. It might be alittle bit of a drive to CO (Denver area), but it will be worth it to have your car remote custom tuned for altitude. |
yes
I definitely agree. What is the name of the shop? I want a tune specific to the altitude I live at.
What upgrade do you suggest I do first. Hybrid turbo's / ECU / Intake. |
