upgrading k24's to hybrids

how much are you guys paying for the 18g hybrids ?

theres a company that can get it done for $300 per turbo

also. how much extra is a 20g upgrade ?

my motor is going to be built in a few weeks and am loooking for a 750-800 hp build

ETW 360 Nov 26, 2009 02:46 PM

$300? I thought Blouch charges $600 each. Not sure though

Merlin Nov 26, 2009 02:50 PM

Mine are at blouch now. I think around $1000 for both.

TwinT Nov 26, 2009 03:07 PM

So Blouch is the cost effective way to do it?

literally bolt off, send them off, receive them back, bolt on, remap and done?

Merlin Nov 26, 2009 03:12 PM

Gotta have some fuel too, at least 5 bar then your ready.

ReeknHavic Nov 26, 2009 03:17 PM

bolt on, 5 bar and an exhaust with the reflash and you're done.

DNugget991GT3 Nov 26, 2009 03:33 PM

$1000 is too much
$600 is the average price for upgrading to 18g

If you can get 18g's done for 600 including a wastegate upgrade....sign me up. Plan on spending 1000+ for a qulity build including cleaning, balencing and wastegate upgrade.

Quality counts... especially when it comes to turbos... I pay a little extra but I know what I get in return....
I had 3 turbos blow out on me and some came from very reputable garrett dealers...
Trust me not every turbo hybrid is done the same....

McLovin,

You going cheap on your turbos for a 60K motor build? Penny wise, pound foolish.

markski@markskituning Nov 26, 2009 04:49 PM

we actually spend an extra $1200 on the 20gs just get what we want out of them....
I would stay away from some $8/hour kid balancing my turbos.... I learned the hard way more then once.

ttboost Nov 26, 2009 05:47 PM

unless you already have the wastegates, be very careful what you get for $600.

JeremyS Nov 26, 2009 08:13 PM

I just had mine done by blouch - $1000 including 1 bar actuators. I had a stud pull out and leave its threads in the turbine housing, and they tapped it out without my asking or being charged. I'd use them again - they take customer service seriously and delivered exactly when they said they would...

TXGold Nov 26, 2009 08:23 PM

McLovin, get the turbo's Powell just picked up.

DNugget991GT3 Nov 26, 2009 09:11 PM

i have the wastegates already
the company thats gonna do them is the same company a few of our sponsors use to do it for them :)
