Dan's a man of his word...

So a few weeks back in another thread I commented that I'd had issues with bushings deforming in my AP control arms and that they were aluminum. Dan offered to send me some for free, and today I got them in the mail.

Dan, Thanks much for your support and assistance in developing my car!

I am assuming you're speaking of Dan @ VividRacing? :)

Are they still aluminum? I thought you were going with RSS IIRC.

No, that was the original poster. In my opinion, the AP units are fine with the steel inserts Dan sent me. I'll upgrade the heim joints once they start to show wear, and I'll order a set of those little heim dust boots from one of the vendors I deal with.

These dog bones really are a simple piece that some have "over-engineered". We're talking about a threaded tube of the appropriate length, the right heim joint and jam nut, and the appropriately sized steel insert. The total sum cost of the parts is about 1/3rd less than the price of a set of dogbones from any of the vendors here. I know that won't make some happy, but go to colemanracing.com or stockcarproducts.com or any of the other race car parts suppliers out there and price the parts and you'll see for yourself... The AP units are the most competitively priced to get closer to this "cost" and my only complaint previously was due to the aluminum inserts that Dan has replaced at no cost to me! Win Win!

Hi Mike,
Could you post the vendor for the heim joint dust boots?

Dan is the main man. The best when it comes to customer service. I wish his shop was down the street so I could take him to lunch and race that 997TT (and then he hands me the lunch back).

I have to agree with the customer service part--I had my first encounter with him today...I called to ask him about DVs and he gave me some great advice (and a great deal on a set of valves and a blingy new red F hose ).
