GT2 Drivetrain conversion
I think the point about how effective the 996 AWD system is a good one. I wanted one for the AWD not knowing better too and now it seems that many disable it or find it non-functioning. Vids on YouTube showing the difference are interesting too - in snow the 996 not spinning the front at all is depressing and I hope indicative of a bad diff and not the system...
The flip side to this is that it still puts down the power very well to the rear wheels due to the engine layout, and I'm not likely to drive the car in truly slippery conditions regardless. That, and the temptation of saving 70 pounds by performing a RWD conversion (one day) sounds pretty tantalizing too.
