Crazy Torque Numbers out of Stock K16's with Softronic
2 Attachment(s)
We flashed a customers 996TT recently and had a chance to dyno the car today with some impressive numbers. He had reported a boost spike to 1.5bar so we wanted to investigate it. We found out it was really when he let off the gas the boost solenoid was not reacting correctly and causing this incorrect reading upon vacuum. To make sure all was safe and correct, we dynoed the car on our Mustang AWD dyno and logged the boost pressure with our Durametric tool. Doing a 3rd gear pull, the boost was spot on at 1.0bar through our datalogs. Generally a flashed 996TT makes about 410awhp and 415tq. For some ODD reason, this 996TT made 480ft/lbs of torque and 417awhp. So... Thought I would share the dyno, the Tune experience, and get feedback.
Car has ECU Flash, Agency Power DV's, Silicone FHose, K&N Flat Panel. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1391399605 https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ine=1391399605 |
The answer is obvious, it has black wheels. Black is known to absorb less kinetic energy while spining at high rpms therfore more HP is transfered to the grond.
"Remember, chrome won't get you home." :) Seriously, those are sick numbers. |
That is the best quote ever!

;) (yeah, I ain't no spring chicken) |
Got any more pics of that car? These wheels are gowing on me.

If the dyno plot is correct, 1.26 bar of boost on the spike. That will defiantly make a considerable amount more torque then 1.0 bar...
Nice numbers for sure! |
No the boost reading on our sensor for the dyno is wrong, that is why we datalogged it.

Not too common to see Japanese wheels on a Porsche. They look terrific!
Awesome numbers by the way, even more impressive without an exhaust (assuming I read the mod list correctly). :) |
oops wasnt paying attention wong vivid posted

Great torque...does the car have a stock exhaust? If so maybe it has great backpressure and so torque is raised at low rpm while there is a flat spot at higher rpm...
|
Yes it has a stock exhaust. So yes the backpressure is probably the issue with torque. We are going to add the Agency Power exhaust to it. Should see another 20HP hopefully.

Nice numbers for sure! I logged it yesterday with the Durametric and the car showed 2100hPa as the constant for boost, although the target for boost was a bit higher. So it makes the boost we wanted and nothing higher. Thanks, Mitch M Vivid Racing |
