Low mile 996TT or higher mile 997TT or high mile 996GT2
Would you rather have a low mile 996TT, a higher mile 997TT, or a higher mile 996GT2 and why.
I can pick up a nice one owner 997TT with good options and slightly modded for ~$60k (maybe a little less) with miles in the 50's. Also found a nice GT2 with miles in the 40's for about the same price. Or should I save the $15k and just get a nice low mile (sub 25k miles) 996TT??
I would love to hear some opinions from all. I just can't seem to make up my mind right now, maybe you guys will have some feedback that I have not thought of yet.
Thanks, Tim

996 GT2 EVERY time... I just went through the same decision making process... The GT2 at the moment is an all time performance bargain.. The last of Porsches non-electronic nannied cars, 2 wheel drive, six speed gearbox, 197 mph STOCK!!!!! 0-60 from 3.8 - 4.0 seconds... If you want a true driver's car that will challenge you to be a better driver, the 996 GT2 is it. If you want a fast GT car that will ride smoothly and be an everyday, all-weather car, go 997 TT..
The huge availability of tuning parts for the 996 is amazing to me having come from the 944 Turbo/951 World where we literally had to manufacture our own solutions and invent ways to make the car better.
Another thing is that the 996 GT2 has quite the "reputation" shall we say.. That GT2 badge, the evil, lowered stance, the wide body... keeps the boy racers away...

Hey Tim,
Without any question whatsoever, the 996 GT2. Had I the budget for a GT2, it would have been signed, sealed, delivered. Glad to hear you're coming back old buddy!
Oh yeah, you wanted to know reasons why. It's more exclusive, much more engaging to drive (so I hear), lighter, better engineered (slightly, at least), and has stronger resale value.

997 hands down the styling and interior are far superior... or spend 30k more and get a gallardo

The problem with the Gallardo is that after you spend that extra $30k+, you need to spend another $55k to TT it!

The actual production number of 996 GT2 is 303. They are much more rare than the current price would suggest. You can get 996 GT2 for the same price as a 993TT.
2002 - 184
2003 - 90
2004 - 24
2005 - 5
Total: 303
I have herad that as many as 50% of teh 996 GT2s have been in an accident. Caveat emptor
