the sticker says x50, dealer's ad says otherwise

when i was inspecting the car last night, i looked at the options sticker in the trunk and saw X50.

the dealer's ad however didn't list it as an x50. so who is right and is there a better way to tell?

thanks,

michael

I might not be correct BUT I think x50's came with yellow calibers

Hmm, that I'm pretty sure isn't right. http://tinyurl.com/yl3vowz

That has red calipers and the X50 package. Thanks though!

Not true. Turbos with CCBs and Turbo S came with yellow calipers. X50 is listed on the window sticker as "Engine Performance Package" for $17,700

ok I was wrong... I was thinking the turbo s... someone said the x50 does have a different looking IC ..

Take the VIN to a dealer and have them tell you. If you can buy an X50 from a dealer who doesn't know what he has, I'm betting you'll get a pretty good price if all else checks out. I'd keep it to yourself. ;)

Feel inside the rear bumper vents and see if your intercoolers have protrouding vents. If so then you have gt2 ic's and an x50. If you can get under the car and look at the id tags on your turbos that'll also tell you. Yellow are k24 and blue is k16.

Heh thanks and just weird things I've picked up over the years;) as more and more folks get these cars used their history isn't always known so at least that usually tells you an x50 from a k16 car. The hood sticker is also telling.

I paid a non-x50 price for an x50 car. Small lot that didn't know what he had. Checked the VIN with the dealer to confirm.

Always a good deal :)
