Resale value with a unique colored interior
Echo others sentiments - if you like the car, get a good discount and change it.
The seat backs on the sports seats can be painted any color very easily. I have a family member that does jet, custom marine interiors & some high end cars. Seen some magic on restoration work, redying leather and trim. I would allow for a high end guy/gal with a good rep in your area; I've been told the leather Porsche uses takes this really well.

I've seen the pix of that car and I have to say, while I'm not crazy about the blue, it's a dark blue so I think I could live with it. Especially if you tint the windows which would darken the interior a little bit more. However I do think it's something you'll have to see in person to really decide whether you like it enough to purchase it. There's a ton of good cars out there available right now (including this one), so if it's not right for you, you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding one that is to your liking. As others have said, you can certainly use the blue interior/resale as a means to negotiate the final price.
i agree with the poster that said that if it's a concern to you now, don't get it. it'll definitely be an issue if you're trying to refresh the interior with any parts and with resale. there are plenty of 996tts with black interiors that are coming up for sale. hold out and stay patient.
I'm probably going to move forward with a PPI, if that comes out clean, I'll fly out there to see the car in person and make my decision at that point.
Thanks for the advice!

My C2 had blue inter. and when trying to trade it in at the local Porsche dealer I was told that blue inter. was not a desired color and that would affect how much they would give me. Dunno if that was just dealer bs or the truth

Post in the 996/997 forum, you might find someone there that you can visit local to you.
The reason I like it so much is due to the deviated stitching which was probably white or silver from the factor, but has since taken on a light grey color.
I have seen this color combo on a silver 996TT, but not ALMOs and I gotta say the blue contrast to the silver trim was very nice. I personally would not hesitate in buying that car with that interior... Never mind the body, suspension and powertrain upgrades.

I wonder how long it's going to take to sell this car:
