What's our front/rear weight ratio?
Hi all. All my documents are in the trunk of my car, which
is at the shop! Does anyone know what our typical front/back weight ratio is? I am deciding on different springs for my coilovers, and I don't see any reason why the springs shouldn't be very close to the natural ratio of the weight... thanks! Joe |
I believe it's either 61/39 or 62/38. I am interested in your new spring choice. What are you considering?
I went from stock to 450/700 and the street ride is good, but wonder if 600/800 would be better for the track. I still get some nose dive under heavy braking with the 450's. |
Hi Larry! I've been running 400/700, and that doesn't even match the
39/61 basic weight ratio, so I'm considering your 450/700 to start, and maybe higher later? |
I'll stay tuned to what your research turns up.

With me in the car, i weight 175lbs
735 front left 666 front right 1073 rear left 1069 rear right no one in the car. 677/640 1011/1048 I had a few bits and pieces in the car, forgot to get them out but u get the point in other words, 36 % front and 64% rear |
Here is a weigh ticket from my car. Does this help? Looks like 1160 front and 2160 rear. 35% front / 65% rear with out me in it.

threadjacking a bit, but I just bought a set of used ohlins with 15kg/18kg springs (or 840/1000 in lb per inch). Would it be suicidal to put them on if I still use the car for DD duties?
That's pretty stiff for a DD but you could probably get away with it if you have the shocks re-valved to properly handle it. Or a cheaper alternative would be to buy a different set of springs. Talk to an expert like Fabryce at GMG. He can guide you as to what the 996TT needs. |
