Please compare Tial Alpha GT 30's to regular Garrett GT 30's
What are the power output differences (assuming one has all the other supporting mods, full fuel system, blow through intake/MAF, large IC's etc.) between Garrett Gt 3076 .63 and .82 AR?
I believe the compressor wheel is one diff, but what are some others? I have been searching but have not seen any full technical explanations. |
Sean, unless you are going to crank the boost, and you have been hesitant in the past, I dont think you will see much difference at 1.4-1.5 bar compared to a stright 76r. I think the A3076s are a great unit but they are not cheap and the incremental performance will be minimal compared to the cost involved. Also, wouldnt you have to return to a stock header flange since these are bolt on units and you have a different flange? If Powell has been whispering in your ear then I say go for the new units at 2 bar but 1.5 will be throwing good money after bad... I believe the A0376s have a 58lb compressor compared to the stock 76r s 50 lb compressor but I may be wrong.... good luck

Agree with Kevin.

Do you want power differences, or physical differences?
I'd be interested to hear both I think the housings are the same size and just the flanges are different I would guess the compressor dimensions are the same, but the fins are a different shape to improve the efficiency I think the turbine wheels would be the same It would be nice if Tial could confirm this so people like me didn't have to "think" and "guess" Obviously I don't expect to be told the specific details, just what the differences are |

I talked to some other turbo guys at cars and coffee this morning and they said the same thing....the Alphas need higher boost to see benefits and I have no intention of going over 1.5, even on C 16.
Our experience, not from a compressor map but rather from dyno+street testing( Todd Kinighton included) is that they Do very well... but it seems like we get a little more from the true gt30r be it a HTA wheel or not... The difference is small... and as KPG said, they are expensive but they do bolt up direct. External Wg set ups are not for everyone... but once you go that route you never look back..... that I know for a fact.... BAsically for the same price as a direct bolt alpha 30r one can get custom headers with external WGs ( tial 44s) and a set of gt30r... a few hundred bucks up or down.... Not taking sides.. I think both options are great.. markski |
It's like a Kodak moment here.

I just finished my first set up with tial 3076 included external and full modified engine in 9ff and we have 900hp crank at 1,3bar.gas 100 oct we have in europe.what can i expect at 1.7 -1,8bar?we ll try next week
also another car in greece with the same turboes and 4.0 litre engine with the help of programmer Greg (friend of Todd proto) arrived to 860whp in mustung dyno 2 days ago at 1.55bar. so i think that tial goes little better from orig 3076 that i ve seen in some modified cars Chris Athens |
