996TT lug olts - looking for non stock bolts – bolts with Mercedes emblems on them
 

I would like to get a complete set of the bolts I'm using currently for the front wheels. The ones I'm using in the front came with the car and I would like to use them for the rears instead of stock ones.

Ones in question have 17MM head bolt size and look to be 2 maybe 2.5 inches long. They have what appears to be Mercedes emblem etching on the top of the bolts.

Someone know where these might be located on web? I have tried searching with no such luck.

I take it Mercedes bolts will work and that is what I need to call about.

Anyone please?

Check out the Vivid website, there are lugs in many lengths.

How many olts do you need? :D

You prolly already know this, but those bolts are conical-seat whereas many of the Porsche wheels (OEM for example) use ball-seat lug bolts.

If you use the wrong style for your wheel, you may cause damage and your wheels won't be properly secured to your hubs. Make sure you're using the correct style with your wheels.

I was also thinking about that too; I don't think those lugs in the pics are for 996TT(even the long one). Of course, I might be wrong.

The ones in the pictures are the ones that came on the car... car had BBS RS-GTs with spacers in the rear.

That said, I have a call into Vivid and they are checking which ones I need and stated they will give me a call back.

Welcome, good luck. I just bought some lugs from Vivid a couple of weeks ago, very easy to work with.

One more thing about lug bolts - bolts with a separate ball or conical seat washer is better than the type built into the shank of the bolt itself. When the ball/conical seat washer is separate from the shank, you obtain more accurate torque settings and have less chance of damaging the seat in the wheel.

With the separate washer (as in factory bolts) the ball seat fits properly in the seat of the wheel and the bolt head can spin against the washer allowing you to obtain accurate torque specs. With the ball/conical seat integral to the bolt, the seats will bind and plating or coating on the wheels can also flake or gall.
