John are you ABSOLUTELY SURE about this as if so I will go and get my exhaust welded this weekend but my pulley won't be here by then and so I don't want to remove the EXHAUST TWICE ??

 

Richard, The exhaust will have to be removed to do the job.

 

My Porsche dealer said they can do it by removing the air box?

 

I guess anything is possibe, but I've never heard of it being done without removing the exhaust. A wheel puller has to be used where the exhaust is normally located.

We will see when I get mine and bring it to the Porsche dealer..
It will be a heck of alot cheaper if they do it that way...LOL..

 

John, I have not done it myself, but I sold several of the EVOMS kits with instructions and have looked into doing it on my car. I am told you need to use the factory puller and to access the crank /pulley area with the tool, the exhaust must come off. Having seen pictures of the pulley and crank, it sure looks that way to me, too. I have a feeling your shop will be removing the exhaust...

 

If that is the case,I am going to pitch a ***** about only doing the job because of the simple swap that they told me,,Plus making me look bad on here with bad info..
Just maybe ??,,they might be able to but would thrash the original one which I dont care about,,I can wish that..

 

why would you need a puller to get it off, its got a centre bolt with no tapered spine correct ?

 

wtf is this a bunch of no brainers, has nobody done this themselves

I got my parts from Sunset Porsche Today, so I will be bringing it in soon.

Yes they are the same parts..
Pulley weighs 299 grams, 10.5oz.
Unless our stock pulley weighs a hell of of a lot more, I don't think this will be noticeable?
