I had the same tires as you on my 996TT, and rubbed as well. I rolled my fenders in my garage, installed 21mm RUF spacers and the rubbing completely disappeared.

I'd take the bumper off and look at IC brackets to see if you can slide them back a bit or tilt them down before anything.

Scott you have been running Proto ICs for awhile I believe... did the IC piping/hoses protrude thru or past the stock flaps in their stock position at all?

Thanks Dennis. I was pretty sad to have to take them off after they were put on the car.

That is a good call. That's what another guy told me to try first today and that will be our first attempt at finding the shortest distance between A and B! and for the least amount of $!

Dave, I think I have some spacers that are bigger than 5mm. if you want to try them I can ship them to you to try before you buy anything, you ill have to roll fenders like scott said most likely. I can measure them to see what they are. But they are definitely more than 5mm. They are to offset the stock wheels to look like GT2 fitment. I am guessing 13mm or so.

IIRC, yes. I had this issue on my 996TT.

Thanks for the offer Dennis. We are gonna take the bumper off tmrw night and take a good look at this stuff and plan our attack. Enrique is local to me and had 10mm spacers he said I can try. I really think the issue is more front to back than side to side, altho it may help a bit. This will all likely be moot if we go the custom hard pipe route.

But I assume you ran custom bent hard pipe from your IC to turbos?

Pic is not very good as it was very difficult to shoot well in the dark. But there really is plenty of clearance there.

might have trouble fitting the stock mud flaps and the bumper back on properly if move that bracket too much.

Flash - yes AP IC.

On the spacers... what offset and width are those rims?

Yes they did for the 4 minutes they were on the car! Now I am on my 3rd set of wheels/tires on the car in 24 hrs.

Thanks Mike, but yes I can tell you clearly have more space there. I wonder why 911GT700 has the same stuff but similar issues as mine?

Invoice from tire rack says:

18x8.5 ET53
18x12 ET51

I just ordered fitment for 996TT after seeing them on Graham's car (a GT2).

Cant imagine why? Are your wheels 18s or 19s?

To be honest a little worried about rolling but might have to because of the non aggressive offset . I'm also going to the custom hard pipe.

"I" indicates the hub face. figures on either side are inches from hub to rim only edge. 315 over 295 - tires are 0.4" wider on either side in addition. Note these are rough indications only as manufacturers side wall or tread designs affect actual widths/clearance. Just use as guideline, then trial and error.

Stock 7.3" I 3.7"
New 8" I 4"

The new rim only is only 0.7" closer to the inner wheel well wall. The 315 tires are about 0.4" wider on each side over stock. I believe diameter increased as well (30 over 315 vs 30 over 295). So together that's 1.1" decreased clearance, diameter increase not factored in.

Put the car down, gauge how much further outwards (away from car), the wheel can be shifted with out causing issues on the fender side. That should indicate max. spacer size. The additional increase from both offset and width (both wheel/tire) is net 1.1" and thus from crude back of envelope calculations, would require a roughly 28mm spacer to line back as stock. Note, the new rim/tire is already 0.7" closer to outside fender.

Just did these calculations quickly so please just use as additional info only and check it.

FYI just in case that hasnt been factored in. i believe the front/rear over all diameter ratio has to be with in a certain range for the AWD to function properly. I can't remember what that range is.
