996 Turbo wheels

Hi gang
I have a 2002 X50 and have been running stock wheels and tires. I wanted to offset the rear a bit to fill out the arches, can I just add spacers to the stock wheels or do I need to do anything additional?
Advice is appreciated and thank you!
Speef

spacers will work fine. I think i saw several members running between 7mm and 12mm depending on width and if you want to roll your fenders. Buy quality spacers and the proper longer lugs. A search should yield some pics of how the car will look with spacers.

You can use up to 15mm spacers all around 21mm rears if you roll the fenders with no rubbing.

You will need 7-21mm longer wheel bolts available at automotion.com based on your spacer choice.

Enjoy

Stock wheels can look good IMO. Just be careful if you get different wheels you pay attention to the size and how it will effect the suspension/brakes and PSM system.
I'd keep 18 and maybe 19, I wouldn't go bigger then that. Plus consider your options on tires w/ the size wheel you buy.
Take some pics and post the before and after pics either way!

I have the stock wheels with H&R 15mm spacers in back and 7mm in front; I am very satisfied with the set up. I called Damon at Tire Rack for the hardware.

I have 21mm spacers on the rear, do you want pics of the spacer or of the wheel/tire on the car after?

^ I believe sport techno wheels require spacers on a wide body, not to make them sit more flush.

Yeah, Sorry I wasn't thinking. I hope to have a set of Twist and new rubber on them in the next month or so. I'll be spacing them out and if the 21mm will still work then I'll be using them.

word of advice on 7mm spacers. Typically these are not hubcentric, meaning they don't have the little center flange that helps center the wheel on the hub. Because of this, it is easy to tighten the wheel down and have it not be exactly straight, which will introduce a wobble. THe solution is to torque as much as possible with the wheel off the ground, in a start pattern of course. If the spacer is on the rear, pull the ebrake to keep the wheel from spinning in the air as you torque. I had this problem and it drove me crazy until I figured out what was going on.
