The DB9 is also going to be more expensive than the 55.

Ive spent over $50k on my 996TT and I dont feel bad or bored- like some of you . Ive had "Italian" exotics- 98 lmbo roadster, 360 modena... and of course- the english cars as well. guess what you guys- nothing comes close to a porsche... especially drivability and reliability. I had a spider... and although it sounded great(tubi exhaust)... looked great... but drivability sucked.... dashboard faults... check engines etc. Now, I drive my cars.. to, to clubs, shopping, etc... and I can is that none of the italian nor english cars reliable. Lets just put it this way... I woiuld never dare to take my ferrari not diablo to miami and back to Chicago. I did that with my modded TT. and it was awesome.
My business partner has a 04 SL55.. we swap cars sometimes.... and it fun... we get more looks in the SL55( cause the high end women know which BENZ is high end and which is not.... and on the contrary, when I go to downtown to"ball" as some put it.. in my $185k+ modded TT... only older gentlemen come up to my car and say"WOW".
and I'm Ok with that. I don't care about being noticed in a flashy car that brakes down all the time.
All I can say is: you can have an affair with an Italian princess (car)... but keep a German workhorse!

Stu's got over a quarter of a million in his car and will get back half after 18 months. For the same price a new car costs, someone could pick up one of the 3-4 we have on the site today that are rock solid performance machines. Hold 'em for a couple of years and get back 90% of what they paid.

Smart too late.
Good idea as well!

I agree 100% with you Markski on all aspects of your post
I had 3 Italian cars, 2 Ferrari's, 1 Lambo, a Viper GTS, Z06 vette and nothing comes even close to the Porsche except for Prestige but that wears off quick
I am so happy I did the other's first before my 996TT so I know what the other side is like and I can honestly say I will never go back to the garage queen's
I will continue to MOD the **** out of my car and enjoy it to the fullest

Every time I get the least bit board with my car I do a little mod to keep it fresh

Any car you buy will eventually get boring but it feel's good to finally not alway's be looking for something else to buy

I wish you luck Orli but you will miss your car, I gaurantee it!
Ken and I were just speaking a couple of hours ago about planning a trip to Fl. with our cars to hook up with some of you guy's!

Orli,
I think a white SC Mini eh Keep the car. If you need us to detune it for a month send up the ECU. Then we will retune it again when you are ready. It will be like having a new car all over again.

Not sure why the hell everyone is selling their cars. I am keeping mine.

You guys should come down to the Cars for the Sure event in Orlando the weekend of February 11, 12, 13. It will be one hell of a showing of exotics and highly modified cars of all types! Go see the thread in shceduled events.

Orli,

It sounds like your tastes or wants have changed or maybe the turbo wasn't what you really wanted in the beginning. I have the Mercedes and the AM. They are completely different cars from the turbo. Bridging the gap between these two types of cars is extremely difficult if not impossible. The closest I have seen is the Bugatti EB Veyron and then it doesn't really do it either.

I guess the best way for me to describe it is the Mercedes and the AM are luxury crusiers. The turbo is performance orientated and just doesn't have the same luxury.

Whatever you choose, I hope it makes you happy. They are all great cars in their own way.
