I don't know if these have already been posted, but the new numbers on the Saleen S7 are quite remarkable. If someone can't come up with solid upgrades for the Carrera GT I may be leaning more towards the Saleen....
I know there are plenty of mods out there for turbo owners, but I am not sure all the mods would be enough to conquer this car.

Performance
0-60 mph: 2.8 sec
0-100 mph: 6.0 sec
Quarter Mile: 10.7 sec @ 136 mph
Skidpad: 1.10g
Top Speed: --- mph
Braking, 60-0 mph: --- ft
Slalom Speed: 73.0 mph

You're right. You should get the SS7. Porsche's no longer good enough for you.

OK...No problem...I just won't run an S7. No big deal. Probably never see one on the road anyway.

I didn't see any info there about how it drives.

i wonder if they fixed the braking. last i saw it took something like 20 ft further to stop from 100mph than the CGT.

alex, you can start stocking brakes as the first mod for saleen owners. they'll need it.

oh, there's no stat for top speed too. did it fly over the speedtrap?

So Mr. M,

Did Atlanta ever sell your old Turbo? You know the guy crashed it on the way up to meet me in Memphis don't you? That was pretty sad, drove all the way out there for nothing. I did eat some good barbeque though.

Ted-
Was that e-mail for me?
No, I didn't know the dealer who purchased my Turbo crashed it. Did they crash it on the way to delivering it to you? What happened? Was the car totaled? Major damage? What did you end up buying?

As for the performance statistics for the Saleen S7, I don't know if they improved the braking performance. If they decided to add ABS, then watch out. Without ABS, unless you are a master driver that is very familiar with the car, it will take you longer to stop. Keep in mind that these performance numbers are using street tires at recommended pressures. Put some slicks on or drop the pressures to minimize tire spin and Saleen said the car will do the 1/4 in low 10s at over 140mph. With 750hp and RWD you can certainly understand how tracton can be an issue on a 2750lb car. I do like the fact that it comes with a warranty and that Saleen is considering offering a performance package option that can increase the power significantly over 750. Not bad at all....

gotta love ignorance, esp. considering the problems we've heard on this board as of late

Yea, the guy drove it up to meet me in Memphis. As the story goes, he was going through a construction area and had a trucker blow a tire in front of him 2 cars up. He apparently hit it tearing the bottom half of the front nose off. The car was still driveable but was torn up pretty badly. It also appeared to bend some cross bars underneath the front when I got under there and looked at it. It also tore the side marker lights out. I say he hit a turned over barrell. That's what it looked like to me. Being that color is so hard to match I walked away from the deal. I did get to drive it though, very fast and it sounded great! I saw it up on E-bay a month or so ago so. I guess they got it fixed and relisted it, no disclaimer of it previously being wrecked of course and it was still at 108K.

The only bummer was I ended up putting an extra 1000 miles on my new RS6 I drove out there to trade him putting it at 1800 miles when I got back home. They offered, and were supposed to, reimburse me for my expenses driving out there and back. I never heard from them again. I ended up selling the RS6 to a guy in Texas and picked up a beautiful '02 X50, 15K, one owner, in St Louis.

Thanks,
Ted.
