I had the same thoughts when I received their quote, but the fact remains that they are the only provider of this mod (for now). I asked for a discount on the shorter model that maintains the down position and they did offer that to me, but the resulting price was still pretty similar to the price of the original, which will include the shorter one eventually. In their defense, I am unaware of anyone else building these parts at all.
