The reason I'm asking is I am looking at throwing my stock exhaust back on my car. Currently has a stage II europipe exhaust and the stage II EPL tuning. The car is too noisy as is and not what I'm going for. Is it bad for the car or the tuning if I put the stock exhaust back on? Will performance be affected as well?

Don't feel bad, I'm confused too

Are you considering buying a stock 996tt vs a 996tt with an EPL flash or leaving your car stock vs. flashing it?

That does sound a bit confusing. Let me start over... I currently have a 996 turbo with a stage II europipe and EPL stage II tuning. I'm not a big fan of the loud exhaust so I was going to throw my stock exhaust back on my car. Will this affect anything or should I leave the europipe so I don't affect performance. Hope that makes a little more sense.

You will loose a little performance but it won't hurt your car.

I'd put your stock exhaust back on the car and sell your EP II if you don't like it. You will lose a little power but it won't be a lot. Take the money you made by selling your EP and buy a different exhaust that you'll be happy with.

Do you have the EP loud. If so, I'd see if anyone would trade an EP quiet with you. I think you'll loose a bit more then a little power by putting the stock exhaust on, say 15hp? I don't think I could ever put my stock exhaust back on.

This might be a good option for you, sell the exhaust and look into this system. It's probably what you're looking for. He's has some sound clips in the post.
PBK exhaust

Good luck on your decision.

Europipe sii quiet

I have the europipe stage 2 quiet, and i don't think you loose any horsepower going to this from the loud. Now I have not heard the stage two loud, but i can tell you that my stage two quiet is not loud unless you are wide open throttle. I did not want a loud car and i don't think this is loud, but before you go spending more money you should listen to one.

Also, as you can sense from the other responses above the europipes are in high demand and you would not have any problem selling the one you have on the classified boards here.

yeah trade your ep loud for an ep quiet that should work. OR sell and buy an ep quiet. But you will loose power going to stock exhaust. You can also do DIY mod for stock exhaust

Why not try Ken's exhaust (PBK)? He has a free trial and it is only $1500.
