which exhaust (2.5 or 3.0) do you have in your car.....Louie
Louie,

I prefer the sound of our 2.5 and that's what I use. It suits my objectives perfectly - very comfortable as a daily driver and sounds fantastic at the same time. The 100 cell cats really improve the throttle response and wake up the car over a 200 cell cat exhaust.

OK... on my short list.
Intrested in a 2.5 polished x-cell...
I don't need tips as I'd use my fabspeed big ovals...
Do cats 100 vs 200's make a diff in drone for your exhaust?
$ ?

I've only known my own 996TT with the stock exhaust and a re-flash (Gemballa tune), and the car runs strong and drives well. I do look forward to adding an exhaust someday, but I'm doing just fine even now.

jj,

A 200 cell cat is a shade quieter, but it's negliable. I would do 100's for the the better flow and performance. I sent you a PM with more information and pricing options.

We flashed a 996TT with DVs, K&N, and our TB/Plenum. Customer did not want to do an exhaust. Car made great power and torque. The exhaust is the biggest restriction, but that is a decision you need to make on how far you will take your car. If you plan on doing nothing else, no problem with the above mods.

Our 2.5 cross-flow is a blast to drive without the typical significant comfort downsides of an aftermarket exhaust. I am very drone sensitive and I love our 2.5 as a daily driver - it truly makes the car more enjoyable to drive.
How is the drone/resonance/volume/sound on the 2.5 X-cellerator exhaust with bypass pipes vs the 100 cell cats?

John,

Everything goes up a notch and personally, it is more sound than I prefer. Performance-wise, I can not tell any difference in driving with the cat bypass pipes. The 100 cell cats do a great job of freeing up the flow, while at the same time containing the drone.
