Flash with Stock Exhaust?
Flash with Stock Exhaust?
How would a basically stock (k&n drop in filter, diverter valves) 996tt run flashed, but with the stock ehaust still in place? I'm trying to decide which one to do first as funds are a little tight these days.
Also my buddy just bought an 09 Raven R6 and wants to do some friendly roll races. How do you guys think that would go if the car was flashed?

you really need a good flash and a exhaust... one without the other is like a knife without a fork...

Agree with landjet. I did the same thing and a flash alone is worthwhile. It's gets better when you add the exhaust.

No, most off the shelf tunes are designed/written for an exhaust and if you don't have one on it's OK, as the slight difference does not require a specific tune. Then when you do put an exhaust on, it's all set...

John is 100% correct... You dont NEED retuned, however we do have specific file for stock exhaust (stage 1) vs aftermarket (stage 2).
Good points - but some questions too.
I've been holding off on an exhaust as most all have drone. I just CANNOT have that resonance. I've had it in other cars, and it is just a huge buzz-kill.
I'm wondering if my 16G tune is specific for stock exhaust, or if I can just drop on a pipe and be good-to-go.
Car runs great as is, but some sweet sounds are welcome...

jj,
You can "drop on a pipe" with your tune and you will experience an increase in performance.
Our 2.5 X-cellerator cross-flow is as close to a no resonance exhaust as you can get. There is virtually no drone, but in certain conditions there is slight drone that is barely noticeable. It is overwhelmingly offset by the performance increase and the fantastic exhaust note 99% of the time. Our 2.5 cross-flow is a blast to drive without the typical significant comfort downsides of an aftermarket exhaust. I am very drone sensitive and I love our 2.5 as a daily driver - it truly makes the car more enjoyable to drive.

i just order one from you but debating on getting the 2.5 since you have it in stock but i guess just wait for the 3.0 to get complete and should just pass up on the exhaust for the car show...can't wait to get and next thing will be the EPL flash..
Exhausts are a must if your doing a flash... the car comes alive big time...
usually a 2.5" is fine... 3" like we do are great but also are louder. Thus a combination of both usually does the job... also ID of mufflers, type of packing material, inner cores all matter when it comes to sound and performance...
