What's it worth? Opinions please
 

I have run into a situation that may cause the sale of my dream car. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking the experts on this forum for their opinion. My 2001 996TT has just under 8400 original miles and is in amazing shape. Two time concours winner and bone stock with the exception of front parking lamps and polished stainless steel lug bolts. Seal gray over black supple. Six speed transmission and all the right options. $117,120.00 MSRP. What's it worth is the question. Once I get a feel for it I may request a spot in the forum for sale area from a moderator. If I'm out of line asking, please let me know and I will request the thread closed. Thanks

very sorry to hear that. I feel for you. That is a fabulous car you have there. How have you managed to only drive 8600 miles over the last 9 years!!!! I itch to drive mine when it sits for only a few days.

This is a tough economy to have to sell a high end sports car. I'm not sure what such a low mile car would command especially in the impecible condition that it sounds like you have the car. To give you some perspective, there is a seal grey 2001 996 turbo for sale at a consignment place in San Francisco that has 16K miles that is selling for $49,900. No idea on its condition though. I hope your situation improves so you don't have to sell your car. Best of luck to you.

If I were in the market for a 2001, I'd pay around $45-50k for that car considering the low mileage.

Im not sure, but from a glance it truly seems like these cars have crept up abit in asking price and you might be able to get 48-53 from the right buyer, but 41-43 in opinion it would prolly sell real quick, I guess it depends on how long your willing to try and sell it.

I agree that 45-50K is what the going rate would be. I am currently shopping for a 996TT and there is a small amount with under 12,000miles (very small amount) and the people are asking aprox 45-50k. The dealerships have some that are less then 20,000miles for 50K...and the dealerships tend to have around a 8k room for negotiating I have noticed. Yours definitely sounds to be the lowest mileage 996TT in the USA from what I have seen from my shopping.

Man very sorry to hear, sounds like you have taken all the precautions to keep it forever, to sell it now would be a shame. Hope your situation changes to allow for you to continue to hang onto it. I would be devastated myself.

Having bought my Turbo this April and actively shopping for one for the 6 months prior to that, I would say that you should be able to get around $47k or perhaps even higher if the right buyer comes along. Perhaps not as common on this forum, but there are individuals out there that want their used performance car bone stock (I personally know of people that think mods = sign of abuse, racing the car, etc.) and with as few miles on the odometer as possible. As someone already said, it is getting more uncommon to see very low mile Turbos for sale. In either event, hope things work out for you and you won't have to resort to selling your dream car.

I wish you luck with the sale. Sounds like prices have improved, as people are quoting prices around what I paid for my 04 X50 Cab about 18 months ago. Mine, however, was high mileage at the time (54K) and now is at 73K.

I have to ask. How come so low miles? That's about 7 months of driving my 996TT.

what would the dealer give you ? There always is a buyer but sometimes the timing messes things up.

It' very sad you are selling a car that you have take care of she so good.Only 9k miles in 9 years,you really have a pice of art and you won't get what your car is worth.They will offer a peny for your car.
Maybe you can find a way to get out of what ever it is and keep your nice 996tt.....goog luck

Sorry to hear you have to sell it. I can't believe you only drove it 1000 miles a year! I do more than that every month in my Turbo. And I put another 500 a month on my other cars.
