Viper Wouldn't Back Up "Smoked Porsche" License Plate

I was driving along the 101 freeway this morning when I came along a new Viper with a license plate reading: NstyVnm. His license plate cover read: "Today's Special" (at the top) -- "Smoked Porsche" (at the bottom). I couldn't resist. I pulled up next to him and motioned for him to roll down his window. Then I offered up my car for "smoking." Notwithstanding his plate and the wide open road ahead, he balked and backed down . . . wouldnt back up his bravado. Later, I spoke with another TT owner who previously met the Viper owner . . . the Viper owner backed down to his challenge as well. What a dick.

While on the subject of smoking, I victimized a SC Viper and a Bently GT earlier this week.

What kind of numbers is your car putting out? Where did you get your stage V zero clearance turbos? I thought none of the Stage V packages had zero clearance turbos?

I have never dynoed my car. Speed Gallery did my Stage V Zero Clearance turbos (Kevin makes Stage V ZCs exclusively for SG).

Who does the programming with those custom turbos? Does it come out much more expensive than going with say an off the shelf stage V package like evo's?

Do you even have a ballpark hp figure?

Just looked up speed gallery's site, there is no information about stage V on their site. They do installs there and is it a custom package?

GIAC does the programming (developed on their dyno for these specific turbos). Therefore, it is an "off the shelf" package in the sense that the turbos are sold with the GIAC programming designed for the turbos. Speed Gallery installs the turbos and programming at their Studio City shop. They have installed many sets. As far as a cost comparison between EVO and SG, I really don't know which is more expensive.

I had a similar experience on I90/94 in downtown Chicago... It was a GTS viper blue with white stripes.... he pulled up and started to laugh at me.... So I rolled down the window and told him that Ill give him 3 cars head start. we were going about 70mph when it all went down. I passed him @ 120mph and slowed down at 180mph.. he never caught me. thats my Viper gts story.
