I joined the Ruiner club

And scratched my car with that fricken rear wiper..

Every time I wash my car I always take extra special care around that stupid wiper, today I wasn't so lucky and it scratched the quarter.

I am kicking myself as i have read and taken note of all the warnings posted on this board, my advice to anyone that still has the wiper...GET RID OF IT...Or order the rear wiper from the 997.

I just did it a month ago... but the scratch was very very small. I was luckey.

This is not a good club to be in, unfortunately. I'm sorry to hear that it happened to you as well. It always brings a tear to my eye. I can't tell you how different (better) that my car looks like without the rear wiper. Call Eric and order the plug replacement as soon as you can.

Is it hard to take the wiper out? Or is it just a quick wrenchin' job?

Bummer. When I saw that post a few weeks ago, I went right out to my garage and put on the zip tie mod. I live in the Northwest so the wiper has come in handy a few times or else I would take it off.

For those of you with rear window wipers,

TAKE IT OFF OR ZIP TIE IT! DO IT NOW!

It's a very easy job.

It should only take about 10 minutes or so. I did it at work in a suit with a crescent wrench. And I have two 10" subs in a custom enclosure.

You still need to get rid of the rear wiper. The car looks 10x better without it. :)

I agree!

Just me, but I wouldn't be able to look at a Turbo with a tie wrap on it anywhere I could see it.

I couldn't agree more, I have ordered a 997 rear wiper and will try it on, they fixed the wiper on the 997 so i'll see how that goes when I get the car back from the panel shop.

Seriously, get rid of it. It WILL find a way to scratch your car.

What's the fix on the 997 wiper?
