Free advice: check your i.c. hose o-rings to see if you have the updated versions!

Hey guys, just thought I'd share a bit of info I learned this weekend while doing my plug/coil change. Just for kicks, and since I knew I would be removing the i'c's from the car, I ordered all new boost hose connector o-rings from sunset for about 3 bucks a pop (you need six). When I got my hoses off, I noticed that my old o-rings were smaller in diameter, a different color (red), and a different shape (round). The new rings were green, were more square in shape, and had several longitudinal grooves running lengthwise along the perimeter of the o-ring.

And, most importantly...they fit WAY, WAY more snug than my old o-rings. It took a lot more force to get the hoses to engage, which is great since you don't want leaks from the hoses.

Anyway, just wanted to mention it since its so cheap and relatively easy to do (at least, you could replace the top two rings going to the y-pipe, and the bottom two rings going from the turbo to the bottom of the i.c.'s, in probably about ten minutes...the rings on the end going from the top i.c. hoses to the intercoolers might be a little hard to get to without taking the bumper off).

Great info and I just would like to add even if you have the green o-rings already... These are a great item to replace if the car has been apart many many times!
