ABS track issue

Anybody who tracks their car know of a fix for ABS coming on under braking and it stalls you from getting back on the power? (in the form of traction control even when it's turned off)

Are you applying the brake and accelerator pedal at the same time? If this is the case, then there is something in the engine software that we disable to prevent this.

No, it usually happens pretty easily under semi hard breaking (sometimes trail breaking) and when it does it has a delay of when it will except throttle. It gets pretty sketchy if you're pushing it and this happens.

Is your ECU stock or modified? It most likely during trail braking. There are a bunch of settings for this in the ECU which can be modified to eliminate this problem. We have done this for our track customers who had the same problem. Our software changes the cut out time delay, speed at which the throttle cut happens as well as increase the amount of throttle and brake which can be applied at the same time. We have been doing this for years and all of our track customers have reported back the problem was eliminated with our software.

I haven't had this problem yet. Maybe tire diameter issue? Only problems I have had is with PSM and getting back on the throttle coming out of a corner and a delay in it giving full power.

I do have an Agency Power flash (Softronics). I'm sure that if this is the problem they will help with the fix. Thanks for the input.

No, this is definitely not a tire issue. Traction control is off as well.

It's a "core function" of PSM which stays on even with the PSM-switch off (described in detail in the manual I believe), on hot days also known to completely boil your fluid as it constantly keeps jabbing the brakes to keep you from driving very spirited, in the end can (and has for some drivers) leave you with a surprising brake fluid lock (pedal gets stuck and does actually lock the wheels and the ABS regulator doesn't help b/c it can't remove the pressure, also the wheels stay locked even when taking the foot off the brake). Scary to say the least.

Been a long thread already about this but in short; the fix is to unplug the connector to the pre-charge pump underneath the brake booster. This removes all PSM function and traction control function (but ABS stays intact). To do it, just remove the plastic cover which sits over the brake master and booster (brake fluid reservoir sticks up through this cover). Under the master and booster there's a cylinder that has a connector on it with a pair of fairly thick wires. This is the pre-charge pump. Just unplug it and PSM is OFF (really OFF). ABS and electronic brake bias still works perfect though as the precharge pump is only for PSM work. You will get warning lights in the car, however once you plug the pump connector back in and cycle the ignition, the warning lights will be gone.

True and tested many times by at least a few hardcore roadcourse drivers on this forum incl myself.

+1 on this. Maybe we can build a resistor to make the ECU think it is still plugged in?

Wow I've really struggled with exactly what Mr. White explained. It is scary when on track you can't touch your brakes with out them just locking up. I can't wait to try this in the spring.

Thanks Mr. White.. My gt2 IC's where on your old car I am sorry to hear about that..

I unplugged it and the only light that comes on is the actual PSM light. It does occasionally pop up on the dash while driving that PSM is off take car to shop or something like that but that's it. A fix for the take your car to shop light would be nice. (as much as I love coming to bbi) Betim get to work on that Drift you later!!!

Just a follow up to this thread that by unplugging this did fix the abs/throttle problem I was having on the track.
