Question Nav Discs, CD Changers, and CDs?

OK then, here are a couple of silly question for you all

Why doesn't the stock CD changer recognise the Nav discs?

Why can't you play music CDs through the Nav player?

I ask this because the CD changer and Nav player are both CD based systems, and the Nav discs are CD based too

Anybody able to explain this in (very) simple terms?

One is data and one is audio... And someone didn't think ahead when they designed it!

Typical Porsche/BOSE electronics at least 5 years behind the rest of the world. The best part is how much they want to charge you for an updated nav disc. For such a nice and expensive car you'd think they could at least get a sound/nav system as good as an Acura. The MP3 adaptor (Denson) is a small fortune and works sorta kinda when it wants to. It's been replaced twice by a reputable installer. The problem to replace the nav/sound you should replace everything (head unit, amps and speakers). So 5K later you have what should have come in the car in the first place. Blame is on the BOSE "marketing" ploy. Find anything made by BOSE and I can find you something made by someone else that sounds better for a lot less money. Notice that no car stereo shop sells BOSE aftermarket.
