Going to have K16 Billet's next month. Any info please

Ok, might be going K16 Billet Turbos next month.

The car will have already:
1. Miltek 100 cell M/sport exhaust
2 Parr DV's
3 MKB tip modded box
4.K&N Filter
5. Hard piping inlet mod.
6. 3.5 inch I/C's

Using UK 99 ron fuel what sort of power are we looking at with
1. Just 5bar FPR and standard injectors
2. Standard FPR and uprated injectors.

Does anyone have some information??

How would you think the car would run round town for economy??

Thanks
Frank:)

I can't give you HP numbers but a friend of mine gave me a ride in his K16 billet car the other day and those turbos are putting out a lot of torque.

Frank, this is very similar to my tiptronic set up. Although I was running 16/16gs and my tip was stock. I had 60lb injectors. Are you looking for performance data or dyno numbers?

Hi mate,
I was wondering about rough dyno figures. I believe the figures are just a little behind 18g turbos? I was told about 550 AWHP /670 crank ( with injectors) and 510 AWHP/630 crank (with 5bar FPR only)?

Would that sound about right.
Thanks,
Frank

My car would never dyno properly, which is common for tips. The most I ever saw on a DynoJet in RWD was 550hp/600tq.

I would not expect such high numbers on 93 pump fuel.

I will be "lucky" if I reach mid 500 to the wheels on my setup. Tony thinks 650 crank will be a possible result.

This is similar to the setup i'm doing right now.

I have my new Billet K16 comming and just ordered injectors and tune from EPL. Tony says i'll have 500AWHP Florida 93 octane and more when i install the water/Meth kit. It came out to be the best bang for my buck in the end. Tony REALLY recommends an injector upgrade to get everything out of those turboes for what its worth.

I really want these, but I still feel I will like the A28's better.

If anyone is in GA with billet K16's I'd like to ride in one of the cars.

Sorry, I can't say since I've never ridden in a 18G car.

How do they drive when you want to be steady and get good fuel mileage?? For eg on a long steady drive at a constant 55/65 mph??

buzzm Apr 15, 2011 08:32 AM

i dont recall every doing that so i'm not really sure :D

i dont really look at mpg as my company pays for my petrol

I'm like jekyll and Hyde. Mostly a nice and sedate driver but now and again I like some fun:D

Don't listen to BHT....his 16G were really 3076 and his car weighed 2500lbs...kidding aside, his car was a factory freak to say the least...

I would guess you get ~475 whp (AWD) on pump. This is equal to about 560 whp for a 6-speed. The modded tip does not help for power unless you were slipping before.

I got ~520 whp (AWD) on pump with alpha 28 and the the supporting mods.

Its pretty hard to get a ton of horsepower on 16s on a tiptronic when you are dealing with a 25-27% drivetrain loss (aside from BHT's freak).

Can you explain your hard inlet piping? It is my understanding it is impossible to install hard inlet piping on a tiptronic. The subframe on the driver's side gets in the way...its unavoidable.

I would definitely go with injectors since you have all the other supporting mods...you spent a lot on the inlet piping and intercoolers, so why not hook it up on the fueling? Either way, your fuel economy is going to suck...I got ~13 MPG with 16g and a 5bar and now i get about 11 MPG with alpha 28's and injectors (I drive like I stole it though). Once again, the tiptronic kills your fuel economy

Tiptronic causes so many fitment issues, in additional the power loss, its unreal...I still would never drive a 6speed tho
