Do you have 542's or 542R's on the Viper? 19's?

 

Look like 542R's to me...

 

19" in the front 20" in the rear

 

I have a tough time telling the difference in the 542R and 542. I think they look great.

 

shank has 542R 19x10 fronts and 20x13.5 rears .....275/3019 front pirelli tires and 345/25/20 rears ......the rears were custom 13.5 ..

Do I have it right... The R's "pattern" is directed one way and the regulare 542's are directed both ways.

That makes no sense.......but I can't explain it to myself any better than that right now, where's my secretary I need more coffee

i think i understand what your saying ..on 542 design is a directional wheel ..you have 2 right wheels and two left wheels ..they both cut diffrent ways which is very nice so when you look at either side of your car wheels are actually turning the same way ..
the main diffrence between R and non R wheels is the outter lip design is flat on the R and stair case design on the non R making the R center of the wheels larger by an inch almost ..so a non R 19 is really an 18" center making the wheels look smaller and an R is a real 19" center ..hope i didnt confuse anyone ...

the R's have a big lip. the non-R's' lip is 2 different levels, giving the impression of a smaller wheel... correct?

 

yes 100% correct ...but its not an impression it actually smaller face and lip .....

 

R means "reverse" lip as I recall, which makes them look bigger.
