997 turbo S pdk

My cousin just drove a 997ts pdk and was totally blown away. He said it makes our cars true slouches. He said 997ts pdk blows us completelly? I know pdk is super fast but I can't see how 530 bhp car completely demolishes our cars especially if tuned to a stage 2. Personally I want manual involvement and I don't think unless straight speed with milliseconds shifts is your thing pdk cars really are the answer to driver involvement. But I wonder how bad do they really kills us? Let's discuss.

The 997S2 PDK (non-turbo) is quicker than our stock K16 cars, so like the GTR this new tranny can keep you in full boost while shifting. I'm sure it is a monster while still allowing smooth driving when wanted. I like the idea of these new transmissions and am thinking about replacing my DD with a E90M3 with their version of the PDK. But keeping the 996tt 6-spd. I may need to upgrade power packages and a louder exhaust, but I still love our cars!

The car is 10 years newer and worth $100,000 more, its pretty obvious why it blows a 996tt away. Its just like anything else though, some people still love the thrill of driving a 993 turbo, or a 964 turbo, I am pretty sure the new 997tt PDK will absolutely blow those cars away as well, everything is relative.

Since we are on this subject. What would it take to keep up with a 997tts (pdk of course)?

A lot.

Simple, look up what it takes to run consistent 10.6's in the 1/4. Not like a money run or something (with slicks or whatever magically hitting all the shift points that one magical time or anything), I mean, consistently running 10.6 in the 1/4 all damn day. You then have a shot at beating a 997 TTS (TTS w/PDK is not necessary to point out, as they only come with PDK without a manual option).

Since the launch on the S is up to the computers, all a driver has to do is hold/release pedal. Done. Everything else is up to the track/surface prep and how much road you have. Dual clutches remove the driver from the equation.

I read many times where some people on these forums say "manual or die". PDK or DCT as BMW calls it, is phenomenal and the wave of the future. I drove an M3 on the BMW course in South Carolina and nothing comes close.
