School me on this Durametric/Softronix cable

So I have this cable from the Softronix upgrade to my ECU and I see it says its a Durametrics cable. Can this cable be used with their V5 and V6 Beta software? It sure looks the same to me looking at this one and the Pro model my mechanic has.

If the answer is yes, can the software be installed on Macs? If its PC only, does it run under parallels for diag purposes? I was warned not to use it to flash the car with a Mac running PC emulation., so I understand that.

Software is PC only. If that is an actual Durametric cable, either version of software should work.

Sigh...

I've got parallels on a MBP 13" that I use only for VPN access to a Chinese bank. I'll try it when my wife brings the laptop back from Shanghai in a week.
