Aquamist or Exhaust for billet K16's?

So I am having billet K16's done at the same time that I'm welding the coolant pipes and upgrading the clutch, engine mounts, tranny mounts, GT2 conversion.

I don't have an exhaust and I'm not crazy about the way loud exhausts sound. I'm not a fan of anything droning or rattling. I did that 10 years ago and it gave me such a headache. This is the reason why I didn't put in the 964lwfw and stuck with the stock dual-mass.

I am a fan of increasing HP and was wondering if it was worth getting an exhaust or going aquamist. Any recommendations on quiet but powerful exhausts? My goal is to hit 800 HP eventually with Tial Alphas.

Snag a Europipe Stage 2 Quiet, they sound beautiful and quiet ;)

No drone!

They have a non-quiet version as well.

Well...you are doing billet 16s to start, so forget about touching 800whp with those units, ever. (wheel not crank guys...) You should do both if anything, but if you had to just pick one and that's it go with an exhaust, will give you gains all the time, you dont need to refill it.

Try Markski's exhaust at 911tuning. No drone, great tone. I feared drone and waited literally a few years to put on an exhaust and I love it.

Exhaust - try running hard/fast for a few laps breathing through your nose only - gotta let it out:D

What kind of mpg do these high horsepower turbos see during street use?

markski@markskituning Aug 10, 2011 05:08 PM

Exhaust hands down... otherwise you will be choking those turbos up at 1.2 bar...

here you go :)

how loud is the comfort and how loud is the race? what's the HP differential roughly? I can perhaps live with a louder exhaust if it's +15-20 HP and slight increase.

We make them per order per specs. Some make 1000whp and some are on 500hp cars.

cant go wrong with 911tuning.com exhaust or any other products he makes, Mark is great to deal with !!!

I have both on my Turbo S and would never look back. They are on K24s but I love the setup. You can take a look at impconceptsDOTcom and look at the Porsche stuff on the right. I pretty much detail all the mods and setups.

Do your inlet pipes while the engine is out. After you pay this bill you will not want to drop the engine anytime soon. .........

@l996 Aug 11, 2011 09:56 AM

Doesn't Markski make this kit without having to drop the motor? I know it's not as nice as the welded pipes...

No but they are very, very close. I have the flex kit, from Markski, and it is really beautiful. ... however next time the motor is out I will do hard pipes from him.
