All of the drop-in ICs are 3.5" right? You might need Markski (or equivalent) to custom fab you some if you need 4.5".

you buy the cores and fab the end tanks up. alot of work though. fitment is gonna be a pita too

the 4.5s we make only work with our end tanks... and as MArk said, putting together one offs on car... its super labor intensive and lots of work... especially since your trying to make the pipes go thru the holes, then fit it in the bracket then the plastic covers...
its a mess..
Our 4.5s do not work with OEM hoses... its reserved for hardpiping..

Switzer has nice ones. If not make them yourself. Pick a very good core, bell uses the end plates to move engine air instead of just being a piece of metal to weld tabs to. I believe that hp is in the end tanks and you may want to shorten the cores to optimize the end tanks.

Thanks for the useful info.

I'm having one of my Mechnical engineers at work make end tanks for these cores.

I'll make my drawings and .dxf files available for the community here. You'll have to add whatever inlet/outlet pipes you want and mounts. The drawings will give all dimentions for the mounting locations. It'll have some DIY fabricating, but it'll be a good base for people to start with.

It'll be a few weeks before they are ready though.

that core will not fit.. its too big... and its not as easy as drawing it via auto cad...it has to be done on the car on and off on and off many times... we made a actual sample then altered it a few times to make it fit... Its really challenging because if you get the endtank then you have to weld them then put in on the car then add the brackets and notice things are sticking out then add the plastic covers and realize non of it fits at all.. and start all overt again... been there done that many times.. In the end will be weeks of work and countless of hours...
there are a handful of issues trying to stuff that big core... I did one for 6" as well and thats a few days of work alone on the car...
Thats site, whoever is selling it has no clew what size should go in there.. furthermore its probably cheap asian stuff...
I laughed when I read that "This core was designed around the Porsche twin turbo 966 intercooler."

my 6" core

Its just time to make them, If you have all the material I would say a day per side. In pic are bell cores. There is 14 rows in a 9" wide core.

Those are the same size that USP uses, but they use 3.5" core's; and funny thing you posted this cause there the same ones I'm looking at. Keep us updated on how they come out Ed, I might have your guy make me some as well and I can pay off course.

Exactly why I asked. :p

I have 7 bikes two play cars and a mechanical contracting business.. Time is short here but unless I am totally in love with something I just make it myself. I have all the tools and equipment under my roof. It is also relaxing for me as messed up as that sounds..
