6speedonline's official 1/4 Mile, 60-130, 100-150 and Standing Mile thread
Mullet...just get a paint roller and a can of VHT and apply that to all your tires...that ought to get you a a 100-150 in less than 2.50 secs..
And last I recall UGR is not out to hunt oval/track records. They are out to obtain all the straight line records and they have done so so successfully.

Lol, I know Lambo doen't have a racing heritage!
I owned a Gallardo ..... for 5 months.
I've owned 8 Porsches.
I see these guys bustin ba*lls and I just wanted to, shall we say,
add a little perspective.
The only TRUE and only REAL way that an automobile marque proves
itself is on the international road courses of organized racing.
This Texas mile stuff is fun and some guys put their heart and soul
( and pocket book ) in it, but its putt putt golf compared to the Masters.
A Lamborghini wouldn't last 20 laps at Lemans LOL!
Lambos are high dollar, attention grabber versions of Corvettes
and Mustangs. They go fast in a straight line for a minute. However
General Motors and in particular Ford, have enjoyed a nice racing
heritage and Lambos.... well, they have cool scissor doors and chicks
dig em....oh and they go really fast for up to 1 minute if you turbocharge
them
You may want to check your math. A forty second standing mile is about twice as long as it takes for the fastest cars to finish. UR cars are built for the street and that is where most of their reputation has been built. Line up next to one with almost three times your power and you'll find out all you need to know about their heritage. My point is that heritage is irrelevant when you are typing on a thread that is dedicated to what are essentially drag racing times. If this was a thread dedicated to track times it would make a little more sense.
If you really wanted to ruffle some feathers you should have brought up the walking piece of Porsche heritage that is Eddie Bello. Undefeated at TI. 5-0 against UR cars. He's held pretty much every Porsche straight line record for years, and he built it all himself. Mullet can attest to the nightmares that little beetle has caused.

I'm building a little beast meself. Completely different approach then
the other fellows on 6 speed. Eddies car is impressive any way you look
at it. UGR's work is impressive and these acceleration numbers are
completely insane. I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
I've owned a Lambo. Lambo is a very special go fast toy, but in the
scheme of things, it's not a serious race car because it doesn't race.
Although this is a 60-130 / 100-150 1/4 mile thread, it is on the Porsche
996 GT2 forums. Public forums are the backbone of all free societies
and they cannot be relegated to dichotomous or otherwise stringent
guidelines e.g " This is a straight line acceleration thread and you
cannot speak comparatively or allude to other forms of performance"
What I mean to say is, Lamborghini lives in a glass house. It is a
marque without a racing heritage. Any stone it tosses must first
shatter it's own abode.
Porsche only has a few wins in racing:
More outright victories 24 hrs lemans ( more then Ford and Ferrari
combined)
World Rally Championship
Euro IMSA group c & IMSA GTP ( dominated by Porsche )
LMP2 Championship
24 hrs Daytona
Monte Carlo Rally ( 3 double wins in a row )
International Championships of Manufacturers
Paris Dakar Rally
I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
Endurance, race track
rally.....
I'm just not that versed in these cars.

I've owned Lambos too; so what?
Hopefully we'll see you and your build at an event somewhere - I guarantee its a good group of guys and they'll welcome you in.
smh...

My apologies sir!
and Pikes Peak!!!
I could spend the next 2 hours relating Porsche wins.
and did I mention, many of these victories were
accomplished with small displacement engines that
were literally half the size of their competitors?
Porsche kicked Fords butt for 20 years and Ford was
a multi billion dollar goliath and Porsche, at the time,
was a privately held business with very little money.
It took a lot of courage and tenacity to go toe to toe
with the giants, but Porsche did it and Porsche BEAT
them.
Lamborghini has nothing.
and I can count on one hand the number of guys I've gotten to know that
I didn't like. I'm sure I would like a bunch of guys who turbocharge
Lamborghini lol. I love fast cars and most of my buddies love fast cars
and the subject takes up 75% of our conversations.
I have a lot of respect for UGR and the guys who pony up the bucks for
the setup! I would love to drive one of these down the strip!
Dude, I'm not attacking the owners. Merely bringing a dissenting voice
relative to Lamborghini.
But yes, I can be a jackass. I can give you the phone numbers of
30 or so women who share your sentiment.
This is the only way to be taken seriously in the car world.
The V10 is proving to be a strong power plant and the FSI is
a very interesting concept. With Audis deep pockets and a
little bit of on the job training, Lambo could prolly do well.
Competition breeds excellence. The more qualified competitors
the better.
