Yes, it is the 4.4L V8 biturbo. The only mods are Supersprint Race mufflers (just the axlebacks) and K&N air filters...that is it. I was running a hair over 1/2 a tank of 93 octane (although it probably ended the run below 1/2 tank ). I ran the ambient conditions through a DA calculator and it came out about -220 (I thought it was going to be more favorable).

This DCT is unbelievably quick and smooth. I was thinking about tuning the ECU, but now I will try to see what it will do at MIR at a track rental in November (Saturday morning I circled back a second standing start run (without launch control) and it came back with 0-60mph: 3.67, 0-100: 7.7, 1/4m: 11.69 @ 125.56mph (124.75mph averaging the last 66' like a drag strip). The standing start run was done on a 2.57% decline over the full 1/4m and all figures with a 1 foot roll-out. However, this summer in 2K'+ DA on not the fastest track (75-80 Dragway) it ran 11.835 @ 120.87mph. So I am pretty amazed myself at just how fast this luxurious 4 door sedan is...

 

Thanks Mike. 05 SL65 with a heat exchanger and no mufflers. Stock tune, stock airfilters, etc...Big heavy 20' BBS CH-R's. Went to the track with street tires and ran the 11.81 at 117.96 and then went to the Dyno. Made 494/648 on EPL's Mustang dyno. Just got a flashed ECU/TCU this past weekend, so hope to rebaseline soon.
Put my lightweight 19" wheels on and it seems to spin way easier and way faster...Need DR's right quick before I go back to the track..new flash feels pretty good......hoping to get in the 8's too.

Nice! I know the other SL65 they tuned put down 564rwhp on the dyno. You should be running in the low 8s now!

 

Yeah...he texted me and said he baselined 505 on their dyno and made 563 after the flash..so my expectation is to pick up about 58whp too, as we have the same mods, except he has mufflers, I don't....

That was our deal, right? You run 10's in your 1000+hp car and my wife runs 11's in my 400+ hp car...

 

Have her do 200+ in the Benz and maybe we have a "deal".
