Thumbs up Install Daves 4" Rennkit Rams

Rams arrive well packaged in about a week all the way down under.

First concern, are these going to fit in this tiny space???

Remove hydraulic system as Ive done this more than once it only took around 15 minutes.

After removing the rams from the car the circlips pictured must be removed from the OEM rams allowing the two pieces standing up next to the circlips to be attached to Daves wing attachment which will allow Daves rams to be attached to the wing. Daves attachement is pictured next to the circlips.

Reading Daves exhaustive instructions

Some force is required to attach these pieces to the wing I found WD40 to be very helpful

The wiring which is simple just follow Daves instructions my only issue here was the crap crimp connections which Dave tells me he has rectified and future kits will include heat shrinkable waterproof type.

Rams in place on the car to test the wiring before putting everything back together. Before realising the rubber boots had no chance of fitting with my 3" Y Pipe.

Making as much room as possible for the new 4" rams notice the zip ties holding the Y Pipe at this stage I also fitted a new Double Hump silicon hose to the throttle body. Plus trimmed my existing 3" Y-Pipe Hoses and fitted new T-Bolt Clamps

Airbox back in and wiring cover in place notice no more rubber boots.

My new 4" lift Wing

I ended up tilting the whole wing on its holders to ensure it was clear of my 3" Y pipe

The whole install took me a couple of days but I did a few other things plus Im only just out of Hospital even have the stitches in my shoulder if I was at full health it would of only taken me one day.

Im very happy with the rams the car was very stable this morning at the track the only issues I did have Dave tells me he has corrected so IMO this is a great option if you want to keep seeing your wing deploy at 120kph.

Cheers,
Tim

Cheers Bro its good to be out, I bought so many parts for the Turbo while laying in that bed, I'm going to be posting a few of these install threads, next will be my new Wagner 5.7" coolers and Function Firsts Shift Right Solution I already installed Abes 340mm Raid FVD Steering Wheel so might take it off and do it again now I have so much spare time

Mark do you want my Wagner 3.5" IC's and I've still got that GT3 delete bizo if you want it

Or do you want them Jimbo??

Tim,
Excellent write up, thanks but I'm not sure I want any more mods for my car, I'm pretty happy where its currently at.
I'm really glad that you're getting better and out of hospital.

Cheers
Jim

As we discussed, it was a roll of the dice if they would fit, and I'm glad you got them to squeeze into the tiny openings with your custom metal Y pipe. Nice job! I'll be adding your story to many others on the testimonials page of my website!

Yes should of been, and tested to 250kph and still there. 300+kph once I fit the new front tyres, the semi slicks that are on there now are only good for 240kph.

we have a 997 turbo owner that has hit 207 MPH without a problem to the eRams.

Hey, trying to do a super clean eRam install and I’m not into crimp-on t-taps. In order to sleeve the connection I need to extract a pin from the o2 sensor harness. This is on the chassis side of the harness, right side of the engine covered in black sleeve material. Anyone know the part number of the pin extraction tool? Can I do it without the tool?

thanks in advance,

Ok, finished my super-clean install. I hope you like the results. Thanks to Dave for getting me through some sticking points.

This is the tap into the O2 sensor line for power

This is where it can get messy. Lots of connections living inside the sleeving.
