Have you tried Willow Springs as an alternate? It's about an hour from Buttonwillow and is also a fun track.

For us Norcal guys, it only take 2.5-3 hours to get to Buttonwillow and we all know that track;) It's super safe without walls etc.... and a good pleace I think.

No walls, good point! :D Although getting sideways over the hill and hitting the dirt can be interesting...trust me, I know. :p

Nothing is super safe with me on the track!!!
