Question Can I put a newer Porsche radio in 2003 911

I don't like the current radio I have in my 911. I wan't XM radio and a hard line for Iphone. Can I find a newer radio on ebay and have it put in my car using all the same mounting bracket and harness. I want to keep the same look. I don't want aftermarket radio looks. Nice plush mount. Where is the best place to find the radio?

Most Porsche sound systems are a generation or two behind the rest of the world when they first come out. Kenwood, Pioneer and a few others make double din units that slip right in and look stock. You lose a few stock read outs but you gain so much more. Fantastic Ipod integration, much better voice activated nav, bluetooth, back up cam option, DVD play while in motion, screen color selectability, XM. You can even get it programmed to show the Porsche logo on start up. With some jerry rigging you can use the stock speakers however they won't sound any better than the stock set up. I've always found that just replacing everything works the best, head unit, amp(s), and

Thanks Duane, good info. I just want stock Porsche. I'm looking for a simple slid in stock radio just newer. I know it takes some tweaking to make pioneer work with the amp and stock speakers so I was trying to avoid all that. I really just want a iPod interface that isn't wire to get signal over radio channel.

The most cost effective solution if you all want is and IPOD interface wired directly into the optical loop is contact Eric at Bumper Plugs (a board sponsor). He has a unit that is almost plug and play. You have to take it to the dealer to get the stock head unit reprogrammed to recognize it as your CD changer. As far as the ablity to just slip in later model Porsche head units, I don't know anyone that has done it.
