Valentine 1 or Escort?

Great info! I hope it's accurate. I live in cali also
The guide is located here on the V1 website: http://www.valentine1.com/Lab/TechReport3.asp
What you'll want to do is figure out what bands your local police use. Here in California the CHP pretty much only use KA and Laser. So I turned K and X bands off completely, those bands throw falses like there's no tomorrow over here. My KA is set to only warn me when signal is at 6 bars, that's enough warning to slow down in time and high enough that you won't get alarms from false KA's that might be coming from things other than police. POP is also off due to not being used/illegal here in America. You have to play around a bit and research your area to figure out what works best for your location

It's true, I can't think of any false alarms that read Ka unless it's another person's radar detector, and the V1 will often let you know with a beeping J for junk. Once I get up North to Oregon though I have to be a bit more careful as the speeds go down and I've seen law enforcement up there with everything from X band all the way to laser.

Well think about it this way, would you rather have it go off more often and ignore it because it goes off so much or have it go off once in a while and know that its probably the real deal? Even if you get a ticket from a cop using K, for example, and you have K off, You probably wouldve got the ticket anyway even with K on because you would be used to getting so many K falses

Mine is like that too around town, in all modes (logic, auto etc...).

True that. But its high sensitivity pays handsomely on hwy. I only use radar detector on hwy since the local urban traffic leaves me with little opportunity to go above speed limit anyway.

The super duper sensitivity does not match the Escort Redlines nor does it touch the Bel STI Magnums. So yes call it sensitive if you want, but it's long range detection does not compete with the other detectors in it's price class.

i will go with 9500 ci.its every where in the forum and read good reviews about them .visit here

I too have to go with the V1. I bought it in 2002 and it is the best. Travel with friends that have others and I always pick up the cops first. Saved my butt many, many times. Mounted it to the headliner and per a post here and love it.

V1 FTW. Directional indicators, plus the ability to program out false indications. Takes a little bit of reading/research, but worth it. Guide to do the reprogramming was posted by Innisdb on the first page.
TOTALLY changed how useful the V1 is.

+1 for the V1. The benefit of having directional outweighs how old the thing is , LOL. Do you have the programming link?
