Yellowbird has arrived

How much would it cost to have one of these built today? I am assuming it would have to go to Germany, but what would the conversion cost? Also, what car was the basis...just a regular 911?
Thanks

There were something like 28 RUF VIN Yellowbirds made (some in colours other than yellow, I've seen red and blue ones). There have also been a similar number of conversions of Porsches into CTR spec cars.
Adams Yellowbird developed 520PS on the Ruf Dyno recently. My Nardo spec GT2 is STILL just very slightly slower then the Yellowbird at below 150mph, but just slightly faster above 150mph. From a standing start to a true 193mph side-by-side there was never more than a 3-4 car lengths in it (but I was behind, although catching up in the 190s!). Weight is the key.
Here's a pic of them together.
The CTR has an amzing stability at speed and handles well for a car of it's age, but would does not compare to todays cars in terms of braking, tires, chassis etc so would be easily beaten on a track by most modern Porsches. Thats should be no surprise as it is a 15 year old car.

That is amazing that the yellowbird can still outrun your Nardo! Of course on the track you would take it out, but man that thing is bad. Wonder what price that car would bring if RUF was ever to sell it?
More pics of the 993 based CTR I love those fat fenders!

The red CTR was a nice one, only the colour put me off from seriously thinking about it. I've never been a real fan of the CTR2, although it's an awesome car, it was not ground-breaking in the way the CTR was and also in Sport guise I thinks it lacks the discretion that a Ruf should have. To me thats why an RTurbo (especially narrow-body) stand next to the CTR as a great Ruf, whereas the CTR2 and also the RT12 (to a lessor extent) are too showy and overblown for my tastes.
